Balcke-Dürr manufactures power plant components for the water-steam cycle and the flue gas path. With its experience of more than 130 years, the company offers ground-breaking solutions and services, ranging from the standard module to complete thermal systems.
We are solidly integrated in a strong corporate group:
SPX Corporation. This multinational, multiline group with headquarters in the USA offers technical solutions for the energy market, the food and beverage industry, and industrial process technology.
The performance of a turbine condenser is a significant factor in the overall operational efficiency of a power plant. Improper and outdated tube bundle layouts limit condenser and turbine back pressure and thus the electrical output of the plant.
A feedwater heater is a shell-and-tube heat exchanger that warms up feedwater or condensate by means of steam or condensate. It is used in almost all power plants with steam turbines.
In any steam power plant, boiler tube corrosion problems can occur if the feedwater exceeds a certain level of dissolved gases. It is therefore essential to remove these gases from the feedwater heating circuit. For this purpose deaerators are used.
In nuclear power plants, moisture separator reheaters (MSR) are key components in the steam cycle of pressurized and boiling water reactors. MSR increase the overall efficiency and protect LP turbines from damage.
Balcke-Dürr boilermaking goes back to 1883 when the Dürr boilerworks were founded. This long track record is the basis of our extensive boiler service stretching from straightforward component replacement through all-in upgrading.
